Our current 12-week Fall Electives are in full swing, and we will begin a new set of 6-week Electives on Sunday, October 15, at 11:00 a.m. In addition to the two 12-week Electives that are in process, there will be five new 6-week Electives offered: Christianity Explored, Hard Questions, Men Receiving the Word, Reformation, and Women Receiving the Word. If you are not currently in one of the 12-week Electives or have not yet registered for the second set of 6-week Electives, please register on the Church Life page of the HBC website.

All HBC ladies are invited to attend our fall Women’s Ministries Fellowship in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday, October 19, at 7:00 p.m. We’ll be spending some time getting to know Kristi Hunter, as well as taking time to enjoy fellowship with one another over light snacks and coffee. Feel free to bring your friends. We look forward to seeing you there!

Friday, October 27, is Trunk or Treat. We’re excited to open our hearts and arms once again to people from all over our community, and we’re expecting another big crowd this year. You can prepare by doing several things.

  1. Pray. Ask our Father and God to open doors for the Gospel. Ask Him to give us eternally significant conversations with people who are searching for joy and purpose and meaning – people who need a Savior.
  2. Plan a “Trunk.” Start thinking about some creative design ideas. We’ll be providing suggestions in the weeks ahead.
  3. Donate candy. If you are unable to participate in Trunk or Treat on October 27, you can still contribute to our church’s community outreach. Buy fall candy, and bring it to church; we need lots and lots. We’ll start collecting candy on Sunday, October 8.

The last several years we’ve seen more people come onto our property and interact with us through Trunk or Treat than through any other event. This is a creative way that we can Advance into our community and communicate our love and care for people. We don’t know how our God may work, but may Christ use our efforts to bring us into contact with seekers who need the Savior!

Nathan Houtz will be leading a hike at Caesar’s Head on Saturday, October 28, for any interested men, ages 12 and up. The day will begin at 7:00 with a breakfast stop before heading up the mountain. The fun trail route is 7.5 miles with wonderful views, but this all-day event is not for the faint of heart or body. Sign-up for the hike will begin on Sunday, October 15. Mark your calendar for a fun day with other brothers as you enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

Saturday, November 4, we will have a special Membership Matters class from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Normally, this is a multi-week class, but we are offering a one-morning opportunity for those who missed our fall Membership Matters Elective and desire to pursue membership at Heritage. Several staff and lay Elders will lead the class and introduce participants to the Why, Who, and What of the Heritage Family. Please email the church if you would like to participate in this class.

Numbered offering envelopes for the 2017-18 fiscal year are available in the South Lobby. Only contributions received through our numbered offering envelope system or online are posted to church records. If you are not presently on the envelope system but would like to be, please contact the church office.

Looking for a place to serve and an opportunity to be a blessing? Our nursery is always in need of  additional volunteers to work on a rotational basis. If you are willing to assist in this ministry, please contact Barb Illsley to volunteer to serve our children or to get more information on the opportunity.

For organizational and safety purposes, the Children’s Wing restrooms will be reserved for children only on Sunday mornings.

Shepherding Groups meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings, and we have Evening Prayer on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. These are vital opportunities in the life of the church. Don’t miss out on the relationships and encouragement that come through these times.

You can give your gifts and offerings to Heritage Bible Church online, if you so choose. We want giving at Heritage to be simple, habitual, and cheerful for our entire church family. We will still take an offering during the worship services, we will still have offering envelopes, and the offering boxes will remain in the lobby. But for some time now a number of you have asked for the option of online giving, and we are happy to provide that for you.

Giving online is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete online giving history from anywhere you have access to the Internet. Simply follow these easy steps:

  1. Click on the Online Giving in the top right corner of this page
  2. Click on the Create Profile button, then
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions.

A Frequently Asked Questions document will answer some of the questions you may have. Thank you for your ongoing financial support of Heritage Bible Church!
