LADIES’ CHRISTMAS BRUNCH
All ladies are invited to join us on December 1 for our annual Ladies' Christmas Brunch! It will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30-11:30 a.m. We will enjoy a delicious brunch prepared by Kirk Flinte, followed by a talk from one of our mission partners, Diane Zimmer. Diane will be encouraging us from Psalm 46—“Be still, and know that I am God.” Tickets are $10 per person and will be available for purchase in the North Lobby beginning Sunday, November 11. We hope that you, your daughters, and your guests will join us for this beautiful morning of fellowship!
TAYLORS CHRISTMAS STORE
We are once again partnering with Community Mission Baptist Church to provide gifts for the Taylors Community Christmas Store. This store provides a way for low-income families to purchase gifts for their children at a discounted rate. It also gives Community Mission Baptist Church opportunities to connect with these people and tell them about Christ. You can help by bringing a gift for a child on Sunday morning, December 2, or volunteering to work at the store the week of December 3-7. Additional information is available on the handout that was distributed last Sunday. Community Mission Baptist Church is located at 1950 Boling Road Extension, Taylors.
CHURCHWIDE LUNCH FOLLOWING THE DECEMBER 2 FAMILY MEETING
Plan to participate in our next Family Meeting on Sunday, December 2, at 11:00 a.m. Following the morning service, we’ll hear membership updates and receive new members. Then we’ll make a transition to the Fellowship Hall for lunch together. Mutt’s BBQ and all the fixings will be served for a $3 contribution per person ($15 cap for families). It is very important that we have an accurate count no later than Tuesday, November 27, so please sign up online if you plan to attend. This will be a great time for us to be together as a family. Make your plans to join us!
Each year around Thanksgiving and Christmas we take an offering for a special purpose—an opportunity to give above and beyond our normal offering. This year our goal is to welcome and serve others—far and near.
Mark Zimmer and his church family in the Yap Islands plan to do a $50,000 addition to their auditorium beginning next summer. Our desire is to supply $15,000 of the $50,000.
We continue to identify ways to better welcome and serve guests at Heritage. God has blessed us with a large facility. Exterior signage, building identifications, and location maps at major entrances would welcome and serve guests coming for Sunday worship and other activities.
This Year’s Holiday Offering Goal: $30,000 with 50% being used to serve people in Yap and 50% being used to serve guests coming to Heritage. Please give generously as God leads you. Simply mark “Holiday Offering” on an offering envelope or select “Holiday Offering” if you give online.
It’s time to begin inviting your friends and neighbors to our community Christmas program, Story and Song: A Christmas Celebration, on Sunday evening, December 16, at 5:30 p.m. Through readings from the Jesus Storybook Bible and singing carols together, we will celebrate the story of God's redemptive plan for mankind from creation to the cross and beyond. This is a wonderful opportunity for all who attend to hear the story of the incarnation of Jesus. After the program we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for light refreshments, warm beverages, and gospel-focused conversation. Printed invitations and banners for social media sharing will be available closer to Thanksgiving.
Numbered offering envelopes for the 2018-19 fiscal year are available for those who use the numbered envelope system. Envelopes are on the tables next to the Welcome Center in the South Lobby. Just a reminder that only contributions received through our numbered offering envelope system or online are posted to church records. If you are not presently a part of the numbered envelope system but would like to be, please contact the church office.
Looking for a place to serve and an opportunity to be a blessing? Our nursery is always in need of additional volunteers to work on a rotational basis. If you are willing to assist in this ministry, please contact Barb Illsley to volunteer to serve our children or to get more information on the opportunity.
CHILDREN’S WING RESTROOM
For organizational and safety purposes, the Children’s Wing restrooms will be reserved for children only on Sunday mornings.
You can give your gifts and offerings to Heritage Bible Church online, if you so choose. We want giving at Heritage to be simple, habitual, and cheerful for our entire church family. We will still take an offering during the worship services, we will still have offering envelopes, and the offering boxes will remain in the lobby. But for some time now a number of you have asked for the option of online giving, and we are happy to provide that for you.
Giving online is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete online giving history from anywhere you have access to the Internet. Simply follow these easy steps:
- Click on the Online Giving in the top right corner of this page
- Click on the Create Profile button, then
- Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions.
A Frequently Asked Questions document will answer some of the questions you may have. Thank you for your ongoing financial support of Heritage Bible Church!
